Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

In the urban Indiana high school where I teach, I have many students who have aspirations for college but lack the access to the tools of a modern education.

My AP students need to read a plethora of books to prepare for the AP Exam and also to prepare for college. Currently, I either have to buy books from my own money, print off texts from the Internet, or send the students to the library to scavenge for books. This limits the books the students can read. A person should not be denied access to literature just because of economic status!

With eReaders, my students will have access to a complete library of the books they need all in one spot. This technology is more affordable and ecologically sound than buying 20 books per student. It also saves space in both the classroom and a student's back pack.

I know this proposal is only for one reader, but I hope to repeat this proposal 29 more times until I get a set of 30 eReaders for my class. So think of your support of this proposal as a donation to a library that will be accessed by many students in the future.
