My students need different art supplies including paint pots, washable paint, paper, feathers, poms, pipe cleaners, felt pieces, google eyes, sponges, buttons, colored tissue paper, and collage pieces.

We are 19 artists in the making, looking all around for ways to incorporate art into everything we do! I teach kindergarten in a high- needs area with overwhelming poverty and other unimaginable obstacles that the students struggle to overcome on a daily basis.

We LOVE art. We enjoy looking at art books, finding aesthetic beauty in nature, and sharing the art that we make in the classroom. The problem? We have NO art supplies to work with. We have exhausted all of the resources that I bought in the beginning of the year, and there are no resources to purchase these materials for our class.

We need art supplies to continue supplementing our math and literacy lessons with art work. We need red, yellow, and blue paint, paint pots, feathers, collage materials, pipe cleaners, google eyes, and paper. We will use these materials not only to create pieces that supplement what we are learning about literature and math, but also to explore topics like color blending, texture, and re-creating art pieces from various artists.

Art is a proven tool for increasing student interest in school subjects. The hands on experiences that art projects provide help students build an eye for detail and attention to those details that they would never build otherwise. You will ensure that my students build confidence in learning through natural art exploration. You will also help my students know the importance of art and how much art adds to the world!
