Better make room has funding available to help students make their dream a reality. My forty four seniors are planning to attend college or go to the military. Several of these students are classified as homeless and need that extra help to accomplish their goal of attending and finishing a college degree.

My Project
These laptops will be given to our students who are planning to go to college and are classified as McKinney vento (federal law meaning homeless). These students have worked hard to get where they are and have faced adversity to not only graduate high school but also been accepted to college.
I have worked with this group of students for the past two years.
They amaze me everyday! To being at school on time, even though they do not have breakfast or a hot shower to making all A honor roll several times through out their high school career. They work hard, play in varsity sports, play in band, and FFA while still maintaining the grades. They do not have parents who support them. They only have me and their teachers encouraging them to make something of their lives. To give back! This is my chance to show them how proud we are of them and give them the opportunity to make a difference in this world!
If these students that are planning to attend college in the fall have a laptop they would be able to complete their college assignments. We are in a digital age and many assignments in college are submitted through their student management system (Blackboard, etc.). Without having a computer many of our homeless students are having to go to libraries late at night after they attend class and most likely their job. If they have a laptop many of them can take care of their homework and essays in their dorm or at their job if they have WIFI.
