I teach Computer Literacy to fifth through eighth grade students in one of the largest middle schools in Ohio. Our students have the opportunity to learn and apply technology skills through the production of our live morning video broadcasts. Five production teams consisting of five to seven students are responsible for creating a daily live broadcast to our student body and staff. Students rotate various responsibilities during each broadcast including: anchor, specialist, tech, and director.

Currently our on air anchors and specialists read from hand held paper scripts. I would like to give the students the opportunity to to create, synchronize, and read electronic scripts from a teleprompter screen during our daily broadcasts.

A large LCD monitor would allow us to project scripts so the anchors and specialists can read their scripts without losing eye contact with the camera. The implementation of a teleprompter would also allow students to use their keyboarding and word processing skills to enter, edit, and save daily scripts. Students would also be responsible for syncing scripts during the flow of the broadcast.

Your donation will allow students to gain real life experience through the use and application of a teleprompter technology and hone the skill set need to apply it to a daily middle school broadcast.
