"Teaching is a way to unlock the doors of the future for each of my students. I currently have been teaching first grade for 6 years. Our school is located in Nevada in a high-need community.

Everyday my students struggle with wondering if their parents will have a job tomorrow. I want to provide a classroom where they can escape the real world by reading a good book. In addition to the recent cuts to education, I do not want my students to suffer. They are our future and we need to help them as much as possible.

The resources I requested are to help my students escape the every day life and to foster reading. The puppets will help my student to enjoy reading and want to read. In addition, by having reading logs my students will be able to record the books they read. Then they can reflect on the books they have read over the year. In addition I have request pouches, so my students can store books at their table. This will enable them to read when every they have free time. Furthermore, I request a mobile book library to help store our class books. With this mobile library my students will be able to see what book they want and not have to dig around looking for in boxes.

By supporting our classroom you will make it possible for my students to dream big. You will show them that even though their our problems in our world today their are people out who care about their education.

My students need one set of kid puppets to practice reading their stories, a puppet tree to hold their puppets, 20 reading logs to record the books they read, one "Go Away, Big Green Monster" book and puppet to understand feelings, one set of storytelling puppets to help tell stories, 20 see and store pouches, and 18 book bins on wheels to hold our classroom books.

Dear Rachel, Lincy Foundation and Anonymous Donor,

I could never express how much your donation will and has impacted me and my students. When we received the items, my class had no idea about was about to happen. I had not told them that the items we requested were funded. Once all the boxes were inside, I had each student open box. For some of them it was the first gift they hard ever received. The look on their faces will be forever in grain in my heart and soul.

Now I have assembly the book shelves and put up the puppets. They are so excited to be reading. The reason they are excited to read is from your donation. They no longer have to rummage through boxes in order to find a book.

Once they find their favorite book, they can now keep it at their desk in their new book bag. With the book bags at their table I see them reading more often and wanting more to time to read. In addition they love to show their friends what books they are reading.

In addition your donation has made a greater impact on heart. They now see that there are people in this world who care about them and their education. There are people who are willing to donate to their classroom without ever knowing them. They will forever remember that generosity for years to come.

I can not express the gratitude I fill for your generosity. My students and I will be forever cherishing your donation. Thank you for supporting my classroom.

With gratitude,
Mrs. D.

Dear Rachel, Lincy Foundation and Anonymous Donor,

Thank you so much for your kind donation to my project. The items my students will receive will be greatly appreciated. I can not express how thankful I am to be able to give my students the chance to escape the real world and go to a new place with a good book. Now they can take a puppet and become a different person without having to worry whether mom or dad will have job tomorrow. Furthermore my students will be able to read anytime they want with the book bags at their table. In addition they will be able to see all the books they like with the new book carts.  Before they would have to rummage through book bins and pull books out before they could see them. However, you have changed this situation by providing them with the new carts.

I know that by giving my students at a young age to enjoy reading will help them succeed in school. As a donor you have given them that chance. They will be able to curl up with a good book and have a puppet to act out the story of their choice. I give you a huge standing ovation for taking an interest in my students and their futures. Donors like you make my job so much easier knowing there are people out their who care about educating our youth.

With gratitude,
Mrs. D.
