Time seems to pass by so quickly. Children grow and change in a blink of an eye. Sometimes we need to stop and enjoy the moment.

Working, single parents simply have no time or energy to volunteer or be a part of their child's school experience. Unfortunately, it is a reality for the majority. What parent wouldn't appreciate having memories of their children captured and recorded throughout their first school experience?

A classroom digital camera with a memory card would create lifelong memories for the parent and the child. Photos taken of each student every month would be included in individually made portfolios which are kept like scrapbooks with work samples. They will reflect special, meaningful days and activities that each child is part of. This would provide a special keepsake for each and every kindergarten child. Photos will also be used along with our science and language arts program. As we observe our adopted tree throughout the year, we'll collect evidence and take pictures to make a science class scrapbook of our discoveries. In reading, we will make class books based on the concepts we are learning, for example, friendships. This will create a meaningful oral and written language experience.

As we go through our very busy, working lives, we need to "stop and smell the roses," enjoy the special moments and remember them forever. Please don't let time pass them by without helping to record memories of their first school experience. A regular school photo does not capture the essence of the kindergarten experience. All parents and children will delight in the end of the year portfolio, a keepsake to treasure forever! You blink your eyes and and they've grown!
