Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am fortunate to teach a great group of first graders in a high needs school. My students are wonderful, inquisitive, and hard working. Most of our students are English language learners and come to school from varying home lives.

My students love to learn and expand their knowledge but don't find many opportunities to do that outside of school. I have the great joy and task of helping them to learn as much as they can while they are in my classroom in order to prepare them for second grade and the world beyond. However I am often faced with a lack of interesting materials, or no materials at all, to use to teach my students.

These theme resource boxes will provide my students with engaging, hands on activities which will enable them to expand their understanding and knowledge of key first grade concepts. This extra knowledge will help ensure that my students are learning all they need to in order to be successful in the future.

Your support will mean the world to my students and myself and will ensure that all of my students leave my classroom prepared to enter second grade. You will make it possible for my students to experience several key first grade concepts through hands on activities. Thank you for your time and consideration.
