"I teach high school in a low-income district. We have a only tiny budget to buy necessary supplies with each year. I want to provide access to more technology for my students, since they will need to be proficient in these areas for college.

I teach Art and Introduction to Drama. My drama students have been working on their own plays - writing the scripts, rehearsing, directing, etc - and I need a way to record their rehearsals for review/critique, as well as a way to record the actual performances to be used for future students to study.

I need a camcorder to film various rehearsals and performances by my students. These recordings will be reviewed and discussed to help make improvements and let the students self-critique their own performances. Students who are not acting in a particular play can help operate the camera and edit the performances to make finished recordings which can be archived for future use.

With your help, my drama students can have access to the tools of technology to help enhance and fine-tune their performances, as well as build skills in operating the technology which can help them as they move on to higher education and career options. Please support this project so my students can have the chance to view and critique their performances.

My students need a DVD Handycam camcorder and two SD 4GB memory sticks to use for Drama class to film their performances.

Dear Deirdre, Gabrielle, Tracey, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
I just want to take this opportunity to thank you sincerely for your contributions to my project. My drama students have already begun using the video camera you donated to our class, and they are very excited to know they will be able to film and watch their performances. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to watch them light up with excitement whenever we have one of our projects funded.

We have used the camera for a few schoolwide events as well, and I have been able to make DVDs of these events for the students involved. This truly does make education meaningful to them, and it gives them hands-on experience and interaction with the lessons, as well as instilling a since of pride - they can't wait to watch our movies with the class!

On behalf of my students, thank you again for your generosity. I pledge to continue finding resources for my classes here at DonorsChoose, and I hope you will continue to donate to projects and also encourage your friends and family to give as well.

With gratitude,
Mr. K.

Dear Deirdre, Gabrielle, Tracey, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you most sincerely for your generous support. Donors like you continue to provide my students with the tools necessary to get the most from their time in my classes. In these especially difficult economic times, it gives me hope to know that when we work together great things can happen. I truly appreciate your support and I know my students will be excited when I tell them that they will soon be able to film their drama performances thanks to you. I hope you will continue to support projects on DonorsChoose.org, and I wish you the best.

With gratitude,
Mr. K.
