"We are 3 small schools, on 1 campus, with 1 library that serves the needs of students from all academic levels, as well as the needs of all the teachers in the building.
Unfortunately I have no budget for new books. I have had requests for a lit set of the book "Maus: A Survivors Tale" and we only have a few copies. If a teacher has a couple classes of 20 and wants both classes to use the book I then must ask to borrow the book from other schools. Often the book is being used or the other school only has a few copies of a book. That means that the teacher will more then likely not be able to use the book because there are not enough copies to go around.
Often it is hard to get students to read assigned books for a class. The graphic novel form appeals to many kids and is good for students of any reading level. Once we have a full lit-set of the books they can used by many different teachers. This is not just a book used in English or History class. Maus has been used by English, History, ESL and Special Ed teachers.
Your help will provide a wonderful book for students to read and learn about the Holocaust and it's survivors. The knowledge that is left for us by the survivors of WW11 and the Holocaust is very important and it is important that each new generation is able to learn from the past.

Dear Fonda, Cash4Books.net, Carol, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and M. B. & Edna Zale Foundation,
I wanted to thank you for your generosity. The book you donated, Maus, is the first novel many of my students have ever read. Its visual format has engaged a group of reluctant learners. The book is rich in ways other texts are not, rightfully earning a Pulitzer Prize and the attention of my students.
We are using the book to study the Holocaust and as a model for writing our own graphic novels. Their publication will be another first for my students.
With gratitude, Mr. R. and Ms. M.

Dear Fonda, Cash4Books.net, Carol, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and M. B. & Edna Zale Foundation,
Thank you so much for the donations for the books we need. I was so excited to get the email from DonorsChoose.org that I called one of my co-workers right away to tell him we were going to get the books! Receiving the funding and knowing that the book MAUS will be arriving takes a load off of my mind. Most students enjoy graphic novels and I have found that the boys get into the book more. I look forward to using the books to show another view of WWII.
Thank you, again
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"My husband recently passed away and this gift was given in his memory. John loved history, especially civil war history, and we visited every historical marker we ever passed. It was his wish to visit every single state. Last year he completed his visit to Kauai, Hawaii! I hope you all become as thrilled with history and geography as he was."

"We provided DonorsChoose.org with matching funds for projects that improve college readiness. We believe that when all people in the United States have the opportunity to develop their talents, our society thrives."
"That is awesome. Is there a chance I can share by reading your students' novel? The Holocaust is one of my subjects of interest."

"Cash4Books.net is proud to be a continuous contributor to the many DonorsChoose.org projects that help students get the resources they need for their education. In doing so, we hope their lives are not only enriched by the knowledge acquired through books, but also that they develop a love for both reading and learning. It is a privilege to think we might somehow be making an impact on those who will one day be the leaders of tomorrow."
