Hello! I am the literacy academic intervention teacher for students in grades K-2 at a high-need, urban elementary school. To the students I'm simply the reading teacher.

I work with students both individually and in small groups. Morning lessons run smoothly, however, after lunch my students have trouble sitting and focusing. This is because they need an opportunity to run and play after lunch. Other than a small climbing structure, we do not have any playground materials.

If the children have access to basketballs, footballs, soccer balls and more, they will be much more active in their play; expending their excess energy so they can focus in the afternoon. Not to mention decreasing the risk of childhood obesity.

I am asking for six sets of playground balls that I can distribute to classroom teachers in grades K-2. Please help our students become more active, focused learners.
