I teach 8th grade pre-algebra and science to 120 students. We are a high needs school with more than 70% of students living in poverty.

I have wonderful computer programs and software that allow students to interact with information on our screen. My only obstacle is that when running/using these programs I am behind my desk. This makes it hard to monitor students as they are working.

With a notebook computer (laptop), I would be able to have a student run the programs allowing me the ability to move more freely about the classroom when conducting this type of interactive activity. The notebook computer would sit on a cart next to the classroom projector. Students can be assigned turns to run the programs while I circulate and make sure groups are on the right track.

Your support of this project would enhance the learning environment of my classroom giving students more leadership opportunities in classroom activities. Students would be given control to facilitate their own learning. Your donation would also allow me to use the software more often because I would no longer be stuck behind my desk and could monitor students freely around the classroom.
