"I teach first graders in a high poverty area where the district cannot provide much in the way of technology other than a computer lab that is aging rapidly.

My students are learning to be poets. They are also interested in listening to the poetry of others so I have been downloading podcasts for them to listen to that other students have created. They want to share their poetry in the same way. They want to podcast!

I need a podcasting kit that has all the equipment and software necessary so that my students can create their own podcasts and share them with others.

These students need to see what technology can do and how they can expand their world through podcasting. You will make it possible for my students to set up their own podcasting radio station in the classroom and become podcasters themselves!

My students need a podcasting kit that includes the software and equipment for making podcasts of their poetry.

Dear Helena Meyer-Knapp & Rob Knapp, Nancy, Coleman, Lu, Mary, Meredythe, Shelley, Jennifer, Julia, Karol, Stephanie and Anonymous Donors,

I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for the generous donation to my classroom. The pod casting equipment has opened a whole new world to them. We have already used the equipment to podcast our poetry. The students enjoyed being "authors" and love the idea of others being able to hear their work.

Podcasting has really encouraged my students to want to improve their literacy skills. It also has had a side benefit of encouraging my "quiet" students to have more voice. They have really blossomed! Everyone can't wait for their next item to podcast.

My students are now thinking of other things that they can share through pod casting and they are really involved in their learning in a way that past years classes have not been before. Even though it is early in the school year yet, we have hit the ground running and pod casting is now the new buzz word around the entire school.

Thank you again. It is donor's like you that make it possible for students in high poverty to receive an educational opportunity they would never have had. With budget cuts and extremely limited technology resources you have enabled me to give my students an experience that will enrich their lives for years to come.

With gratitude,
Mrs. C.

Dear Helena Meyer-Knapp & Rob Knapp, Nancy, Coleman, Lu, Mary, Meredythe, Shelley, Jennifer, Julia, Karol, Stephanie and Anonymous Donors,

Thank you so much for your kind donations. You will help fulfill a wish that my class has had all year long...

In my classroom we try to use media a lot! We love being able to share our learning with others. My students love listening to other podcasts and they decided they wanted to do one of their own. They wanted to podcast the poems that they had written. Unfortunately, the free software was hard to use and our microphone was not a good one so the sound quality was very poor.

Now that they will have the proper equipment for podcasting the sky will be the limit. They are so excited about the next podcast they will create!

Thank you for sparking their enthusiasm and making their wish come true!

With gratitude,
Mrs. C.
