I am a third year high school history teacher in a high need school. There are times when paper and copying capability are non-existent. Still, my students and I press on to do the best we can with what we have. Many of my students are only reading on 6th and 7th grade levels, yet their intelligence exceeds their skills.

I am often faced with the obstacle of trying to get content information across in a variety of ways. One of the most effective ways that I have learned to do this is with the help of a LCD projector. Unfortunately, my old college laptop that I was using in conjunction with the LCD projector recently crashed.

We need a new laptop computer. A laptop for use with the projector will enable my students to hear music, see images,and watch video to supplement what we are learning in class. It helps us to have flexibility in how we learn what we learn. We also are able to research things that come up unexpectedly.

With your help, my classroom can continue to work towards raising student achievement! You can make it possible for us to get back down to business and for my students to see that people care about their education.
