My students need myriad choices when it comes to reading. They need available to them a variety of books covering various reading levels and topics.

7th grade Special Education Inclusion classroom in Louisiana needs exposure to literature.

Research shows that interest in reading declines during the middle school years and a large part of the decline is because adolescents have a hard time finding literature that relates to their lives.

By maintaining a classroom library full of books on various topics and reading levels, students will be more apt to continue the love of reading they discovered in primary grades.

Your help will allow my students to continue the love of reading so often lost in middle school. In addition, reading books of their own choosing will increase reading comprehension, the largest area our state is lacking in high-stakes testing.
