Urgent Call: Essential School Supplies for Inner City Kids

My first grade students need many colors of construction paper, manila and white drawing paper, giant twist crayons and help yourself glue tubes to use on a daily basis for making books, response to literature projects, art projects, and to draw for enjoyment.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a first grade teacher and I teach in a high poverty community where our student's and their families are unable to provide academic enrichment activities and/or donate school supplies.

I am in desperate need of essential school supplies.Especially with the extreme budget cuts that are affecting our school & district right now. We do not have the paper & art supplies that our students urgently need.

Since I teach first grade, my students need drawing paper so that they can make drawings to interpret their understanding of concepts and also draw graphic organizers to use for their writing projects. I also need construction paper to create student books and art projects. Art projects and drawings are essential for first graders, especially those children that are need more time to develop into fluent readers and authors.

Your generous donation will provide my first graders with much needed construction paper, drawing paper, glue and crayons. They will be able to use these on a daily basis in all academic subjects and also for just the pure enjoyment of art and drawing.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
