Teaching 45 kindergarten children about the world is a challenge. We are a school that is becoming increasingly ethnically diverse.

Children in my classes come from many ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We have a great opportunity to learn about the world from many points of view. We need hands on pictures and facts that will enhance the understanding of all students.

I feel Weekly Reader will give us that. The topics covered are what my children are trying to tell each other about. By having each child have access to their own copy of Weekly Reader they will be able share personal knowledge with each other, learn new things, and then take it home to share with their families.

Your help will provide the hands-on materials needed to engage my class in discussions that foster understanding and acceptance for cultures other than their own.
