Anti-Bullying Novel Study

My students need 20 copies of "Grumble Bluff", by Karen Bessey Pease.

Ms. Bessey Lincoln Middle School
Portland, ME Grades 6-8

Books Bust Bullying! I teach at a middle school with a diverse population of students where bullying is a problem. The students in my school range in age from 11 to 14 and come from a variety of backgrounds. Almost half of our student population is below the poverty line and many come from significantly needy backgrounds.

My school district is facing a severe budget shortfall and has no money available for extra purchases. The book Grumble Bluff is geared towards the prevention of bullying, illness, parental and peer relationships and the trials of adolescence. Many of my students are in bullying situations, and need a novel that deals with the subject in an engaging manner.

A class set of the novel Grumble Bluff will enable my students to read a great book that touches upon some difficult subjects.

Your donation will ensure my students are able to explore the theme of bullying, the prevention of this destructive behavior and how to deal with bullying. This book my help to empower young people to have faith in themselves to make the right decisions in their relationships with peers.
