The Students Are Wired For Wireless!

Our students need a school-wide color laser printer!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Your help today will give these children a future their ancestors have never known. Hope is a wonderful thing to offer and a terrible thing to withhold.

Ninety-eight percent Hispanic children in a Title 1 elementary means learning to read and write without developing 21st century skills in technology. This is like teaching a man to fish without giving him a fishing pole; only partially equipping him and guaranteeing his failure.

Elementary children enjoy computer lab time more than recess and lunch. Yet we need to spread the computers throughout the classrooms. Hard-wiring multiple color printers is cost prohibitive but setting up a school-wide wireless color printer in the computer lab is simple and effective to make the difference. Most schools are using computers to teach students about word processing. And the results can be printed in black and white and still make sense. However, when teaching spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentation software, color is king! Not only is color necessary, it's even required when converting spreadsheet data to graphs and charts. Many charts our students could print make no sense in black and white when portions of the graph are color coded. Therefore, with a color printer, we can teach the students how to record data in a spreadsheet, convert the data to a graph, and print the graph to display with their project portfolios. How exciting for the students and rewarding for the parents as well! Everybody wins. Let's move these students into the 21st century and equip them with the ability to print the way they see... in color! We so much appreciate the help of our donors.

These students should be given the same opportunities as the students in the nicer neighborhoods. Our vision is to offer our 431 students an unprecedented opportunity to experience cutting edge technology in order to fully prepare them to lead when they reach the secondary level. If we don't act, they are destined to remain trapped where they are. We can make the difference with your help.
