Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach fifth grade at a Title I school in a high-need community. We have historically been a low-performing school, but due to recent changes, we know we are on the upswing. We have a staff of passionate teachers that are committed to making sure our students succeed.

Our school is in the process of trying to improve the quality of our students' education by introducing them to the technology that is already available to their more affluent peers. Our students are very invested in our online math program, called Accelerated Math, and have shown a lot of growth as a result of it. However, this program requires us to print all of the tests and activities that they complete, which takes a lot of ink that we currently do not have. Due to this lack of resources, our program is currently on hold.

If we had extra ink cartridges, we could ensure that the Accelerated Math program gets back on track and stays on track. As teachers, we feel that this program is a vital teaching tool that will give our students an invaluable opportunity to learn and succeed. The ink we are requesting will support our students success in Math.

Your donation would mean that our students can continue learning and using technology. Additionally, it would allow us to implement some of the other online programs that our district has recently purchased. Please help us give them all of the advantages we can to make sure that they thrive and excel.
