Help break the Silence I teach high school debate, which is an event that includes students from grades 9-12. My debate program is competitive locally and nationally. These students dedicate a number of hours each day to work on their cases and speaking ability.

With the limited budget that a public school receives, it becomes difficult to get items such as the one that was requested. With the students so dedicated-I realize how much this will help the debaters prepare better for tournament. As I write, the debaters are debating a practice round using plastic tubs as their podium.

The podium is a much needed tool that the debaters can use to debate from. This will provide them with area to place their cases and evidence as well. In an event that is a stepping stone to students finding their voice-this podium will help assist them with it. Imagine a young debater being able to speak from this podium-it would boost their confidence and allow them to feel more comfortable. As a bonus, it would help with my Economics class as I can add A/V material to it.

I am confident that with your support, these debaters will use this item to find their voice and become stronger people along the way
