Please Help My Eagles Soar With Dictionaries!

My students need 30 dictionaries to use in the classroom to define words they do not understand in their readings.

My students are ready and willing to learn! All they need are a few resources to help them soar! I teach Language Arts to three classes of 6th graders in a rural/suburban area that is working diligently to recover from a recent natural disaster.

My students thoroughly enjoy reading, but often get frustrated with difficult words they encounter while reading. To help them feel successful, we need a class set of dictionaries to help us define challenging words.

I've worked with my students as best I can by teaching them to use context clues, but when they're still having difficulty understanding a word's meaning, the dictionaries that currently inhabit my classroom shelves are of very little help. They are older than I am, falling apart, and missing pages. I would be so excited to watch my students go searching for answers that boggle their minds in a brand new, class set of dictionaries!

Your help will inspire my students to search for answers, expand their vocabulary, and encourage their reading. My eagles could truly soar with a new set of classroom dictionaries!
