"I am an intermediate Social Studies school teacher located in New York State. Many high school teachers doubted that 8th grade students could score well on a tenth grade History regents exam. My 8th grade students will be taking the 10th grade American History regents in June. This is the third year my class has done this and we have a ninety percent average passing score . No other 8th grade public middle school students are accomplishing this in my state. This is considered a great achievement.

My students are extremely motivated, however due to financial strains, funds are limited and the extra text books that are needed for taking regents are hard to come by. This project will enable me to access other specific regent questions and connect with all learners. Not all of my students can afford the regents book, but having a projector I can access political cartoons, supreme court cases, primary documents which the entire class can utilize. Visual aides allow you to connect with visual learners as well as tactile learners.

This projector will not only benefit my regents class but also my multi-level learners. I would be able to access different levels of learning for the same lessons. This will also increase their reading level and overall academic achievement.

Technology is evolving and our students are our future. We should empower them with the learning experience through technology. You will make a pathway to become a magnet school through higher academic achievement. My 8th grade regents class will compete with 10th graders in taking the American History regents. This will also enable my collaborate classes to perform at grade level. This will also increase our graduation rate. hide»
