Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Cooperative, excited, motivated...That IS my classroom. I want to continue this motivation and excitement for learning by giving my students the tools they need to succeed. Our school is a high-need, Title-1 public school with limited funding and resources.

My students are most successful when they are provided with opportunities to engage in learning activities that engage all their senses in a fun and exciting way. By using multiple approaches to teach the math concepts of fractions, decimals, rounding, multiplication and division, my students are encouraged to think critically, communicate their understanding and strengthen their math power. Many parents find it difficult (because of education, confidence or circumstance) to help their child practice and maintain the skills learned in class.

Engaging all learners in the math curriculum is vital for the achievement of my students. By using multiple approaches to teach a math concept, I will encourage and motivate my students to succeed. Incorporating great children's literature geared towards the topic at hand and fun math games that help them practice their skills at school and at home, I hope to ensure that this enthusiasm for learning and determination to succeed remains.

Lifelong learners. . . Learning is fun. . . With your support and contribution, you will help encourage and motivate my students to connect the dots. . . Reading and Math. . . Knowledge is Power! Thank you
