Basketballs for the Kids

My students need basketballs to use for P.E., recess, and after school clubs.

Our school is in a low socioeconomic area of South Carolina. Most of our students live in nearby apartment buildings and extended stay motels. I teach physical education to all of our grade levels from preschool through fifth grade.

Being a Title 1 school we do not have much money for classroom supplies, let alone P.E. and recess equipment. On a budget of only $500 a year, I don't have a lot of ability to stock our equipment closets.

We currently only have about six basketballs for all 450 of our students. These balls are used for P.E., recess, and our after school programs. This means I am not able to teach a basketball unit due to the fact that we do not have enough equipment for everyone. Also, if we did use the balls for class, the kids would have NO equipment for recess.

Your donation will make it possible to teach basketball in class while still having equipment for recess time! As an added bonus, you will be helping our non-profit after school programs by providing equipment for them to us as well! Please help us make the wonderful sport of basketball available to ALL of our students!
