Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 8th grade ELA as part of a CTT (Collaborative Team Teaching) model in a high need community. My classroom is composed of talented students with and without special needs.

Currently we are learning to express and communicate our thoughts through writing and with images. Our supplies, however, are highly limited and as a result my students are not as motivated as they can be to produce creative work.

These art supplies will benefit my students by allowing them to create artwork that directly reflects the expression in their writing. The folders will help to keep the work organized and neat. Currently we are writing memoirs that we would like to design personalized covers for. Being able to provide my students with these art supplies will motivate and inspire my students to be creative to their fullest potential.

Your help will allow my students the means to continue to develop their creative abilities. Being able to provide them with the materials necessary to express their ideas is crucial to their intellectual and emotional growth and development. Your contribution will make a difference in my classroom.
