Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our students are enthusiastic about the books in our library. They have learned to reserve books using our online catalog and place titles in our wish list. I would like to take this love for books a step further and encourage students to record their book reviews as podcasts. These would be uploaded at our district's podcast page.

We do not have microphones or headphones to record the student reviews. Our library does not have funds for items other than books.

I would like to purchase a snowball microphone to record the students and enough headphones for the six computers we have in the library. The students would be able to listen to their podcasts in our library. They could also listen to other student podcasts to learn how to be engaging and clear.

Your help will ensure that our students develop their speaking and voice projection skills, practice sharing their book reviews with an audience, and become familiarized with 21st century tools.
