The Story of Immigrants is Every Person’s Story

My students need 3 noise canceling headphones with microphone to record their immigrant's story.

We are a school of diversity. Although our school is set in an affluent area, we have in the adjoining suburb, the only World Relief office in the state of Illinois. As a result, we have had an influx of refugee students within the last 4 years.

The addition of our refugee population has been a blessing to our students. Most of our students have come from homes where money is not an issue. Our refugee students have brought to our school the story of struggle and adversity mixed with the victory of survival. Our fourth grade students will be interviewing immigrants and refugees from within our community. It is our hope that through this fourth grade immigration Photostory project, our 4th graders may experience themselves and communicate to the rest of the school the story of the immigrant.

In order for our 4th graders to create this Photostory in which they will take on the voice of the immigrant/refugee they interviewed, we will need noise canceling headphones with microphones. The more of these headphones we can get, the less time we will spend pulling kids to record their immigrant/story in a quiet location.

These headphones will help our students immortalize the story of the American immigrant in history.
