I have 20 inquisitive first grade students in a Title I school. My learners don't have the luxury of wealthy parents or the supplies of an unlimited PTA, but they thirst for knowledge and they hunger to understand how their world works.

I want to make science in my classroom more hands-on, meaningful, and relevant to my students. I want to lift concepts off of the textbook page, and into their daily lives. I want my kids to touch, build, discover, experiment, play, and simply *love* science.

Using experiment kits for understanding electricity, magnetism, and simple circuits, I can move beyond "telling" them about science and let them start "doing" science. Using models of the solar system and the human skeleton, I can bring abstract concepts alive and let students build on their natural curiosities.

Your donation for these science materials will spark a desire in my six and seven year olds that may last their entire lives. Science is about exploration, discovery, questioning, and trial and error. With your support, I can capture my students' love of adventure and hunger for knowledge. We can turn it into future scientific careers and opportunities for lifelong learning.
