Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a first grade teacher in a high-need community in New York. Most of my students are ESL - English Language Learners. However, science, math, and technology are the strong sides of my class.

My students would like to extend their knowledge related to science. The effective and efficient way is through hands-on activities that include all visual aspects. We visit the Hall of Science on a monthly basis. Students really enjoy being over there where they are exposed to all scientific topics and phenomena.

We are currently learning about animals, so these scientific materials would really improve our knowledge. We need a big screen microscope, insects and animals slide kit, scientific classification center, life cycles puzzle set, markers, chart paper, laminate machine, and weather activities set.

Moreover, your help would change the life of little six-year-old scientists. Their dream is to be a teacher, doctor, or scientist in future, but their resources are really poor.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
