"I teach kindergarten in a high-poverty school in Maryland. My classroom is the foundation of where learning begins.

I have pushed hard for my kindergarten students to have "Center/Choice Time" but there are no materials available to support this time. Centers offer purposeful, hands-on, active and collaborative learning. Students are given opportunities to participate in a creative thinking process. Our school day is very structured and students are not given many chances to express their creativity and independence. The focus is on reading and math.

I would like to start an art and science center. I need materials to make this happen. For the art center I need an easel, paints, paint brushes and smocks. I would like to provide my students with hands-on, science manipulatives. My focus is to develop the "whole child".

Your help will make it possible for my students to explore their world in depth and creatively develop fine motor skills.

My students need the opportunity to participate in science and art centers, therefore we are asking for 19 art supplies, such as tempera paints, aprons, and paint brushes; and a comprehensive instant science center.

Dear Hsin-Li, Wendy, Shelley, Noah & Deborah, MJ, Rebecca, Naydee, sarah, Lisa, kim, sheri, Jen, James T, Melissa, Vicki, Julia, margaret, melissa, Mrs. Sabnis Rangnekar, Jonathan, John, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Amy, Emily, Aleesha, annikah and Anonymous Donors,
Thank you for your generous donations. Your donations have encouraged my students to use creative, analytical and scientific skills during "center time." The students have painted pictures related to all of our content areas. The students are learning about the weather, magnets, human body, and their five senses. During their free time, my students are still learning. They are engaged and eager to participate in the science and art center. Please continue to make a difference in the lives of children.

With gratitude,
Ms. H.

Dear Hsin-Li, Wendy, Shelley, Noah & Deborah, MJ, Rebecca, Naydee, sarah, Lisa, kim, sheri, Jen, James T, Melissa, Vicki, Julia, margaret, melissa, Mrs. Sabnis Rangnekar, Jonathan, John, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Amy, Emily, Aleesha, annikah and Anonymous Donors,

Your generous donations will enable my students to express creativity. The art center allows each student to independently express themselves. They will create their own "masterpiece."
The science center allows my boys and girls to use hands-on materials to observe, investigate, and make conclusions about our world. Thank you for your contributions. You have made a difference in the lives of so many little ones!

With gratitude,
Ms. H.
