All Done...Now What?

My students need a set of Science Photo Activity Cards, a Science Quiz Game Show, different books that have interesting facts and discussion starters, a Solar System Floor Puzzle, a complete set of "Can Do!" games and a box and tote to put all these things in so they are easily accessible.

Keeping my students' interest can sometimes be difficult but very necessary. I am a 4th and 5th grade Science teacher who travels to eight different classrooms everyday. My students really enjoy me coming and I look forward to teaching them and having fun, educational lessons prepared. I have to stay on my toes at all times to keep their interest and learning going throughout the year.

Our school is in danger of not passing the federal and state requirements for the 5th year in a row. My 5th grade students are to take the state Science test that helps determine whether or not we pass. The problem they have had in the past is remembering the information from 4th grade and up through 5th grade. Time wise, it is difficult to also fit in reviews from the previous year while getting the required lessons in for the current year.

My students need the Can Do! games from all areas we study so they can review concepts throughout the year when their work is finished. They also need a solar system floor puzzle. This helps the students see the planets in the correct order and refresh their memory on different facts. With the different books that are discussion starters, my students could sit and talk with one another about things they are interested in and we can carry out conversations in class too. The topics are not only interesting to my students but could also be a challenge to those who need a challenge. The Photo Activity Cards are a great way to quiz each other one-on-one. The Science Quiz Game Show is perfect to do in a small group or as a review with the entire class before a quiz or test. And, last but not least, we need a box to put all these great games and activities in along with a tote for the outstanding books. These materials would be used when the students' work is finished and they need something else to do.

With your donation, my students will have materials to help them pass the state and federal tests. The students at my school have really been working hard on their test scores and know how important it is for our school to pass. This is one more way to help my students achieve their goals and pass very important tests.
