Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This enthusiastic group of K-3rd grade students needs your help with their hand-writing skills. My students have learning disabilities and fine motor deficits that make writing an obstacle to them. Our big public school system does not have the funds to purchase the materials that we need.

We don't have the multi-sensory and adaptive materials that we need to help the students with their hand-writing skills. The kids want to write and are so proud of themselves when they do write something. However, writing is challenging and sometimes frustrating for them. Having the right adaptive materials will allow the students to be successful.

To help my students be successful, I need a variety of adaptive writing materials. Weighted and adaptive writing utensils help the kids control their handwriting. A multi-sensory program such as 'Handwriting Without Tears' will further help the kids be successful in their writing. Finally, adaptive paper and writing templates will help them with visual perception while writing. These materials will be used by various students both in the special and regular education classroom.

You will make it possible for my students to improve their handwriting skills. You will make handwriting a lot easier for my students and allow them to be successful. Thank you in advance!
