Born to be High Tech! One of my goals as a kindergarten teacher is to provide my students with the experiences they will need to function successfully in a world that runs on technology. Some of my students do not access to good quality computers at home. Approximately one-third of my students live in the apartments next to our school and buy their clothes and toys at secondhand stores.

Our year-round school has a computer lab, but only one part-time computer aide that is booked with the older grades. We have been in school for four months and have not had one computer lab with a specialist! Kindergarten children need computer time too! In fact, since their brains are still rapidly changing, it is the perfect time to expose them to technology. I would therefore like to provide my students with a mini classroom computer lab.

I can use my teacher's laptop for one of the computers, but I would like one more laptop. (We don't have the space for a regular desktop computer.) If two children at a time rotate to the two notebook computers, and I have six rotations a day, each of my forty-four students (twenty-two per class) will get to use the computer every other day.

Your donation is the only way I can make this mini computer lab possible. Please help me build a solid technological foundation for my forty-four kindergarten students. Their early exposure to computers will be their ticket to future financial independence.
