Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach second grade in a high-need, high-poverty community. Our classroom consists of me, 16 children, and Swimmy (our beta fish). Our room is always bustling with excitement for our latest project or topic of study.

My students write for an hour a day in writer's workshop. They plan, write, revise, edit, and "publish" their own writing. The students have great ideas for writing, but we have only minimal supplies to create finished products.

The resources that I have requested would empower my aspiring writers and illustrators to bind their writing and make it look professional.

My students and I would greatly appreciate your donation. Your help will engage my students in writing and spark their creativity.
