I am a multi-subject fourth grade teacher, in a school of about 550 students. I also co-teach with the special education teacher in Language-Arts and Math.

Our school is about 42% free and reduced lunch, yet we are not a Title 1 school. Therefore, we receive no Federal funds for projects. As a school, we have begun having fund raisers for technology. With a school of 30 teachers,and each needing a projector, the money does not go far. This is especially true when one projector can cost $900.00.

As teachers, we are encouraged to help our students become 21st century learners. In order to use 21st century technology, an LCD projector is needed. The use of this technology will greatly enhance the student's learning by actively involving them in the learning process. This will allow the students to participate in hands-on activities using the interactive smart board, create powerpoint slideshows, and allow the use of United Streaming by the Discovery Channel.

Your help will be very much appreciated. It will introduce my students to technology that otherwise would not be available to them. They will be one step closer to becoming 21st century learners.
