Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have smart, creative, and inspiring students willing to put forth every effort to be successful.

I work in an area that deserves special care and concern. Many students in my class don't have opportunities to explore technological advancements other students are afforded. Over 65% of students receive free or reduced lunch to ensure at least one balanced meal, yet their spirit and thirst for learning has not been tarnished.

My goal is to teach students that regardless of our backgrounds we are all a community. They must love and appreciate themselves, then love and appreciate the differences in others. Therefore, students must complete a report that highlights something about themselves that they're proud of. Then they complete a report about other ethnic groups' differences and similarities to themselves. There is a visual presentation that they must complete with their report. Many would like to use the Internet and the resources that it contains to share with the rest of their classmates. However we don't have a feasible output to allow that to happen. A class projector will not only promote greater student engagement beyond their reports, but it will expose them to a source of technology they otherwise would not have.

Your support will be a testament to community. Despite personally differences, we can all love, share with, and care for others.
