Problem Solving PowWow!

My students need a Math Time rug.

Problem Solving is a vital part to our math curriculum. The students really enjoy all of us getting on the same level (the floor) to discuss the various strategies of problem solving.

Over the summer my math classroom was relocated. During the move I lost my former rug where I would gather with my students. I was not too worried about this until I began working with my new students. They really respond to these informal PowWows. They have suggested on numerous occasions that we find a rug so they are not sitting on the hard floor. Of course I suggest returning to our desks and they protest. :)

A rug (at least 8 x 10) will give us a more comfy and specific spot to discuss problem solving strategies. This will reiterate to the students that I value their input and believe that our Problem Solving PowWows are important.

Your assistance with this project will allow my students to embrace math vocabulary and problem solving strategies in a way that is exciting for them. They suggested the rug. By obtaining the rug, their idea would be validated. Who knows what problem solving genius will come from our future PowWows?
