My students need 30 copies each of "House on Mango Street" and "Animal Farm".

I teach a 6th grade class of 30 students from a high-needs community in the Bronx. All of my students currently qualify for free lunch.

My students have bright, young minds who need challenging books to increase their reading levels. They come to school each day looking for a safe and nurturing environment in which I they can perhaps have the opportunity of a more meaningful life.

My school's budget was cut this year by almost half a million dollars. Supplies, books, and everyday materials are scarce. As a teacher, I provide what I can, but can only do so much. Having a class set where each student has their own book to read and study with makes becoming a better reader more reachable. Both selections are rich with vocabulary, experiences, and characters that my students are sure to engage in and enjoy.

You can make achievement possible by supplying class sets of books for my students. Knowing that you care and want to help will also boost their motivation.
