Creating the leaders of tomorrow requires the technology of today. As an African-American studies teacher in a technology charter school, we are dedicated to creating the movers and shakers of the next generation. New Media Technology Charter School is a a school in a high-need community committed to devolving and creating technological skills in our youth. Our future leaders need to be better prepared for the workforce and college.

New Media Technology charter school just moved to a new location and has over and outgrown its technology equipment. In moving to a new location it has become difficult financially this year to get more technology equipment. This year's ninth grade class is large and sharing supplies has been taxing. Most of the equipment that is available goes to the technology teachers. This is only fair seeing this is our school's focus. However, to spread technological literacy to the whole school it is needed in each classroom.

If the African-American studies class received a projector they will be able to present the yearly project that is required in a project based school such as New Media. The teacher(I) will be able to present many more class in a much more visual way by using PowerPoint, the Internet, and many other visual aids. The students will also be able to see that teaching isn't just reading and writing from a board, but can be a complete technological experience.

With your help,care,and support my students will be able to view and realize African-American studies(and teaching) in a whole new way. This will open new doors to where the students did not think they could venture.
