"I teach art to students ranging in age from four to fifteen in an extremely poor neighborhood. This is the first time most of my students are experiencing art in an actual art room. Many of them have never had the opportunity to use paint or scissors and glue.
My students are incredibly enthusiastic about art and are always willing to try new things, but are very critical of their own work! I'm working on getting them to take pride in themselves and what they create, but seem to run into barriers. My students tell me they have so little to be proud of considering their surroundings. I want to change that!
We don't have the funding to go to art galleries, so I want to be a gallery to them! We need these frames to create an artist of the month gallery in our hallways. I want my students to feel that their artwork is so wonderful that it deserves to be displayed in a frame!
With your help my students can aspire to become great artists, whose work can be displayed in a gallery for all the school to see. My students can take pride in something they have created and feel some satisfaction that their hard work is noticed and rewarded!
Thank you so much for funding the frames for our Student of the Month Art Gallery. The gallery is up and running in the front hallway of the school! Students, Parents and Visitors to our school pass the gallery everyday and have so many wonderful comments about the student work displayed in the frames. The students talk about the different pictures they see in the frames. They love to discuss the projects that other grades are working on.
I've had many parents stop by my room to comment on the student work in the frames. I've also had many students ask when they are going to get a chance to have their picture framed and in the gallery.
You've truly made a difference in our school, by funding these frames you've provided the students with the opportunity to take pride in their work and themselves.
Thank you so very much
With gratitude, Mrs. H.
Mrs. H. sent this note after the project was fully funded:
Thank you so very much for your amazing generosity! I really can't explain how great it will be for my students to see their art work framed and hung in our very own Art Gallery!
My students are developing their artistic talent daily and are so proud of the work they are producing! By donating these frames I will be able to create a formal gallery for student work.
These frames will hang in the halls of our school for many years and will celebrate the great, creative talent my students have. This gallery will be a fantastic tool in getting parents involved in their children's school by attending art events in our new gallery.
Thank you for being so thoughtful and kind, I truly appreciate your donation and promise to use the frames to help build the self esteem of all my wonderful students.
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"Thank you so very much! I can't explain how much this means to me and to my students. They are so excited to see their work hung on the walls of the school, I can't wait to see how proud they will be to see their work hanging in a frame! Your donation towards the frames for the gallery will be used for many, many years. Thank you"

"Remember that Art and Music is the KEY to creativity and inventive minds of our next generation. Academia and mathematics are surely important, but in this day in age, we often forget how essential the arts can be-they harvest and grow the creative minds of children. Continue to encourage art and music as we would mathematics and sciences! Cheers!"
