I teach Spanish, both second and third year courses to students at a suburban high school. I know that my students will enhance their learning of Spanish by being able to create movies from digital images. By taking their own pictures, their creativity and application of the material is increased. We are limited with our use of technology because of availability. The school district has grown immensely over the past several years and the supply of technology has not kept up with the demand for technology.

There is one digital camera in the school for the use of 2400 students and 100 teachers. My students really enjoyed making a movie with digital images showing their classes but the activity took one week when it could have been completed much faster if we had greater access to digital cameras.

I would like my students to take pictures of an activity such as playing soccer. During the playing of the activity a student is injured, such as, twisting an ankle. The students help the injured student to the clinic where the injured student describes what happened. All the while digital pictures are taken so that the story can be told. This project will help my students apply the learning of the vocabulary and grammar to a real life experience. They will also use the language so that connecting vocabulary and grammar aids in remembering the material.

Your help will ensure that my students enhance their learning experience with real life experiences. My students will be more willing to use the language because they will be using what that are doing instead of reading what someone else did.
