Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a fifth grade teacher in a diverse, high-need district in New York. I social studies, science, language arts, and math.

The computers in my classroom are from 1998 and are too slow to do anything except type a paper. I have a great 3D animation program for kids, called Kahootz, but I need a faster computer to run the program. I hated social studies as a child and I try to make the subject interesting for my class by using comics and animation.

My class needs one computer so they can create historical fiction animations on the computer. Students will write a script based on American, Canadian, or Latin American history. After I approve the scripts, students will create animations using the computer and we will present the work to parents and family.

Your donation will make social studies more interesting to my current and future classes. With retirement at least 30 years away, I assure you that your donation will be put to good use. Thank you.
