High Interest Books

My students need 3 Judy Moody books, 4 Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and 2 Stink books.

Ms. Wehner Kratz Elementary School
Saint Louis, MO Grades 3-5

I teach a fantastic group of third graders who are very interested in reading. We are located in a low income area in the state of Missouri. My students tell me they do not have any books at home.

Many of my third graders are discovering a renewed interest in reading. They are eager to read chapter books, or what they call the "big kid" books. My third graders are discovering Judy Moody, Stink, and Wimpy Kid books. My students can't get their hands on enough books to satisfy their new found thirst for reading.

Unfortunately, our school library only has a few of these high interest chapter books. There just aren't enough Judy Moody's to go around. We need more books written by Megan McDonald and Jeff Kinney.

You can make the difference to a child in need. Third grade is a crucial time for children. By then end of third grade, students may have decided they like school and will go on to become active members of our society. Or after third grade, students decide school is not for them and they choose another path for their life. What if the addition of a few books to a classroom library could make a difference in a child's life? Can your donation make the difference?
