Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 3rd grade at an inner city elementary school in Indiana. I have highly motivated students that try their best throughout the school day.

My students absolutely love reading! They have come such a long way from the beginning of the school year. We have a 90 minute reading block every day. It is broken up into three 30 minute sections. Students are working on a variety of reading activities during this time.

I have requested three large bean bag chairs. These bean bag chairs would be used during our reading groups. They would also be used during free choice reading time in the afternoon. In the afternoon, students that have done an exceptional job that day would be able to use the chairs during free reading time. All students would have the opportunity to use them in the morning. This special privilege would allow students more freedom and an exciting place to read a great book!

Your help will ensure that my students have a fantastic area to read at on a daily basis. Students will be motivated to read even more once they have these to use.
