Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have a class of high poverty students including autistic students and those with other learning disabilities.

One of the issues facing these students is the inability to focus during large group instruction; therefore I need to continually monitor and walk around the classroom. During student presentations, the students may use the sound system to project their voices so that all students may be able to hear.

With the use of the personal sound system, I will be able to keep in close proximity those students who have difficulty focusing and following directions. In addition when working in cooperative groups, I won't need to strain my voice to get whole group attention. It will also help those students who are sensitive to loud voices. By allowing students to use the sound system, more students will volunteer to participate, thereby increasing student participation and learning. It will even help with self confidence.

By funding this project, you will help to create a fun and interactive environment while also helping to meet the needs of individual students.
