"CSI (Creating Students w/Integrity) Wednesday" is coming soon to our school. I teach Kindergarten at a rural Title One school of approximately 750 students.

Being a Title One school, we have a high percentage of children who live in poverty. Exposing our students to rich, interesting literature is a top priority at our school. In addition, we are committed to teaching our students about the importance of being a good citizen and demonstrating good character at all times.

In an effort to help our students become better readers and develop good character, we would like to implement "CSI Wednesday". Each Wednesday a "mystery teacher" will appear on the morning news show. The teacher will be covered with a sheet so as not to expose her identity. The only thing our students will see on their classroom TV is a childhood picture of the "mystery reader". With "mystery music" playing in the background, the children will hear 3 clues about the reader and try to figure out who it is. After a few moments, the mystery reader will be revealed and she will read a character education book to the students. Afterward, the teacher will draw a teacher's name out of a hat. That winning class will win the book that was read by the "mystery reader".

Your help will ensure that all of our students in the entire school will listen to meaningful literature while learning valuable character traits. It will also help foster an excitement and enthusiasm on Wednesdays at our school.
