"My classroom is made up of kids that are often disadvantaged. they started school behind their more affluent peers and have only been allowed to slip further. They have been told they are stupid, that they can't do it. I also teach a class that is only students who are not only learning civics, but English as well.

Last year our department had access to LCD projectors. During the spring semester last year, the school was broken into multiple times, resulting in their theft. The school has no funds to replace them, so the students are faced with only getting information from an overhead projector, essentially no technology is available for use in the classroom.

An LCD projector will allow the students to see images and websites relating to the course. This is especially helpful when it comes to talking about government, in showing an increasingly plugged in generation how easy it is to become involved. In addition, the projector allows the teacher to move throughout the classroom instead of being stuck at the front of the room next to the overhead.

Your help will make a huge difference in the lives of my students. They often feel that no one cares about them, that the world is against them. Simply by donating you can show them how important they are.

My students need an LCD projector in the classroom so that they are able to experience multimedia classroom presentations.

Dear Kevin, Gary and Barb and Anonymous Donors,
Thank you so much for helping to fund our classroom! The students that I teach are typically from disadvantaged backgrounds, which means that they are often multiple grade levels behind. The projector will allow me to use visuals in our classroom that simply aren't available using only the overhead projector. In addition, the fact that someone besides me cares about them will have a big impact on the outlook of my students. It's so amazing for them to be able to receive help from outside the school, and I know that they will appreciate it!
