My classroom is equipped with a wall-mounted manual sharpener. However, it is old, does not have a cover and the dull blades eat the pencils instead of sharpen them. I am unable to sharpen a pencil with the sharpener and my students have even less success with it. My class would love to have a heavy duty electric pencil sharpener that could withstand the use of 24 students. A heavy duty electric pencil sharpener would save pencils, allow extra time for the students to work and spare the students tears and frustration from chewed up pencils. Your generosity will ensure that my students begin each day on a positive note. Something as small as a sharpened pencil means so much to my students.
