Sharing though Painting and Stories

My students need two new easels and paint pots for retelling stories and personal expression.

My classroom is full of energetic, enthusiastic children, who are in love with school. I teach kindergarten in an underfunded, underprivileged urban setting.

As a kindergarten teacher, my goal is for children to fall in love with school and feel comfortable expressing themselves through art, literature and dramatic play. The easels used for painting in my classroom are very old and broken, and I don't currently own a flannel board.

Providing an opportunity for children to retell stories and share ideas through painting and props (the flannel board)is a great way to build comprehension, self expression and for children to make connections from stories to the world around them.

Your generous donation of an easel, paint cups and a flannel board will help my children develop self confidence, self expression, feel value in their creations and better understand the world around them through painting and literature.
