How can I possibly say enough about the wonderful school I'm blessed to be a part of this year? Our school just opened this August as an academy for high ability students in a large urban school district. The top 50 academic students in each grade - 2nd through 5th - are being bussed into our school in order to provide them with the best education possible. All of our teachers went through extensive training this summer to learn how to teach these special students; develop new curriculum to provide them with hands-on, engaging learning activities; and how to create a school in which students really DO come first. I teach 3rd grade in this very special place. My students are so energized about learning - I am thrilled every day to be there. Their parents are highly-involved and deeply committed to our school and the bright futures of our students.

We were blessed to receive Promethean Activboards which are wonderful, interactive learning tools that enable me to access excellent lessons, Internet opportunities, and hands-on learning activities for my students. Unfortunately, we were not given all of the tools we really need to use these Activboards to their fullest potential.

My students would love to be able to respond individually on a myriad of topics, using Activote devices. Activote would allow all of my students to be involved in the learning activity at the same time. They would also give immediate feedback - a great educational tool. The Activwand would allow the students themselves to reach the Activboard and manipulate the lessons. The Activslate would allow me to move around the room and still be able to access the Activboard from any location.

Since we are a new entity in the school system, we have had to make do with used chairs, desks, and computers (and a limited number of those). The Activboard is used constantly and these materials would allow my students to interact even more with all of the possibilities for learning it provides. I know that you have a lot of worthy applicants, but I appreciate your considering my students and the bright futures they have ahead of them if they continue to love school and learning like they do now.
